Officer hospitalized after crash in Port St. Lucie

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla.  — After being hit by a car on Tuesday evening, a police officer from Port St. Lucie was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The collision took place near Felix Avenue and Southbend Boulevard at around 8:12 o’clock in the evening.

When the officer was struck by the white Toyota, according to the officials, he was directing traffic for another accident that had occurred.

After the accident, the police said that the car’s windshield was broken and that the bumper was damaged.

When they were taken to the hospital, the officer was awake, but no other information about their health was given.

According to the authorities, the driver of the Toyota stayed at the site after the accident.
