Coast Guard Lake Worth Inlet station poised for recovery operations

Lake Worth, Florida – In response to Hurricane Idalia, a crew from the South Florida Coast Guard is poised to provide assistance.

The Coast Guard Lake Worth Inlet station has positioned 40 active duty personnel and 30 reservists, all of whom are in a state of preparedness. Commanding Officer Rick Seymour indicates that their primary mission is to support recovery efforts along the Gulf coast of the state.

Simultaneously, aircraft from the Clearwater Coast Guard station have been transferred to Palm Beach International to ensure their safety. This fleet, consisting of four C-130s and five Black Hawk helicopters, will remain stationed there until conditions permit their return to the west coast.
