Miami-Dade Police Department cracks down on illegal intersection activities

Miami, Florida – The Miami-Dade Police Department recently announced a major breakthrough over the New Year’s weekend. They have successfully arrested five individuals, aged between 18 and 23, for their involvement in dangerous intersection takeovers.

This proactive operation was a collaborative effort involving several units of the police department. The Homeland Security Bureau, Intelligence and Investigations Section, the Priority Response Team, Robbery Intervention, and North Operations Division uniform patrol units all played critical roles in these arrests.

The report details that the operation was not just about the arrests. It also led to the impoundment of one gun and one car. Additionally, a total of 16 citations were issued during this operation. The charges against those arrested are severe and varied, including aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, drag racing, and operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
