News Jersey man fatally struck by a vehicle in an Orange County crash

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol said a man in his twenties who was attempting to cross University Boulevard on foot was struck by a vehicle early on Saturday morning. The accident resulted in the man’s death.

The man, who was from Long Branch, New Jersey, was walking north across the eastbound lanes when the collision took place at 1:43 in the morning west of Technological Avenue, according to the state troopers. The man was reportedly not in a marked crosswalk when he entered the direct path of a Tesla that was being driven by a 19-year-old Orlando man and had one passenger, a 19-year-old Orlando woman. The man was struck by the front of the vehicle and died as a result of his injuries.

According to the troopers, the people who were inside the Tesla did not flee the scene and were not hurt in the crash. A report on the accident states that the man from Long Branch was transported to the hospital, where he was declared dead.

An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
