Woman thinks she is God and kills teenage child on his bed to save him from “the devil” while 5-year-old sibling was watching everything and screamed for help

A woman, mother of 2 children, is facing several charges including premeditated first-degree murder, domestic battery by strangulation, aggravated child abuse and child neglect after police learned that she killed her minor son because she wanted to save him from the “devil”.

According to several reports from local news outlets, the Fla. woman was arrested few weeks ago after police arrived at her home just to find out that she strangled her teenage son to death on his bed “because she wanted to spare him from the devil”. This unique and horrifying event has profoundly affected the local community and has garnered widespread national attention.

The woman, identified by the local police department as Jasmin K., 37, said to police officers that she called herself “Yahweh” — meaning “God” in Hebrew. While in custody, she further explained to the detectives that “she was being questioned due to her sending her son home.” When authorities asked to further clarify what her comments meant, she was happily explaining that she did the “right thing” as her actions were towards “sparing her son from the devil”.

Court documents indicate that the incident was brought to the light of the day when officers with the local police department arrived at woman’s residence in the early morning hours and they found the 13-year-old victim dead on his bed. While investigators where examining the scene, the woman confessed to chocking her son at the bedroom in the house where she lived with her mother, the mother’s boyfriend and her own two sons, ages 5 and 13.

The whole incident was even more alarming taking into consideration the fact that everything happened in front of the younger sibling’s eyes as he screamed for help while witnessing the incident on his own. He then ran out of the bedroom seeking help from the other relatives, but by the time they acknowledged what was going on, the 13-year-old was already dead. Paramedics pronounced the boy dead at the scene.

Jasmin was ordered jail with the possibility of a bond. She was initially charged with premeditated first-degree murder, domestic battery by strangulation, aggravated child abuse and child neglect.

The local Sheriff’s Department conducted a press conference to address the case, during which they extended their heartfelt condolences to the family and relatives, lamenting the unfortunate reality that such a young life has been lost.
